Doctoral Fellow Jenna Norosky Presents New Research on Men and Gender in Conflict

Doctoral researcher and Human Security Lab research fellow Jenna Norosky presented their dissertation project on conflict-related sexual violence against men at the conference "Gender, War, and Security" at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) on December 2, 2022.

The conference was jointly organized by the Center for War Studies at SDU in close cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nordic Office. The conference served as an interactive, conversational meeting space between the academy and the field of practice and included presentations from scholars and practitioners.

Norosky’s dissertation research, for which they have recently been awarded a Human Security Lab Research Grant, involves the emerging attention in the United Nations system and NGO community to the issue of conflict-related sexual violence against men and boys, a topic that has until been noteworthy for its relative neglect in the international system.

Norosky will also present their draft dissertation prospectus, entitled "‘Men, Too’: Silencing and Unsilencing in Human Security,” at Human Security Lab’s Global and Human Security Workshop this Thursday.
